Architecture photography for exterior, interior and close up photography

At Alise Black Studios, our photographers Alise and Treia, have a combined industry experience of over 40 years. They have a genuine love of all types of architecture and understand the importance of conveying a mood that complements the building.

Since 2003, and with formal photographic training, we have provided a range of architectural photography and landscape images to a wide range of clients. We have all the right equipment, including 16 - 35 mm wide-angle lenses, the latest high resolution DSLR cameras and our amazing Phase One medium format camera, should you need billboard imagery of the highest quality.

Architecture photography is a highly technical field. Utilising the correct lenses, balancing lighting and ensuring the images have clarity and depth is critical. At our Studio, we can help you create stunning images for your project.

Different buildings often look better during different times of day

Architectural photography is either best photographed during the daytime when there is blue sky or during the blue hour. The blue hour is just after sunset and can highlight external lighting features, internal lights for an inner glow, while lighting up exterior aspects like facades.

At  Alise Black Studios, we provide artistic architecture photography that showcases buildings, real estate or local businesses. Choosing the time of day is about deciding what type of overall look you want. Brutalist structures may like to have harsh shadows and restaurants may want clean images with a soft, warm glow.

Even though we have all the right equipment for your project, good things can't be rushed. The weather and lighting conditions change throughout the day, therefore photographing buildings and interiors can sometimes take a whole day. One room may look good an hour after sunrise the other one hour before sunset.
